TAFSC 2026 is a Pan-African learning challenge designed for participants who want to build real skills in reducing food waste and food loss, from farm-level production to food preservation, handling and consumption in homes and institutions.

Requirments

To participate in this challenge, you have to first complete the self-paced course on the ACSAIR Academy website:

Mastering Food Waste Reduction in Africa

This course equips participants with practical and theoretical knowledge on:
  • Reducing food waste and food loss
  • Better food preservation practices
  • Food handling and storage strategies
  • Waste reduction in households, institutions, and food systems
  • Practical actions that improve sustainability and efficiency
  • After completing the course, participants come back here to this website to take the online test/challenge. Top performers will be recognized and awarded cash prizes.

    Important Note:
    Participants are encouraged to fully study and understand all course modules before attempting the TAFSC 2026 test, since the test is one attempt only.

    How the Challenge Works

    Step-by-Step

    Enroll and Learn

    Visit the Academy website and begin the course Mastering Food Waste Reduction in Africa.

    Study at Your Own Pace

    Complete the modules, take notes, work through practical tasks and do any additional research you need.

    Access the Test Portal

    Once you are ready, return to the Academy Test website and click the TAFSC 2026 test button.

    Take the Test (One Time Only)

    Complete the online test:
  • 10 multiple-choice questions
  • 15-minute time limit
  • One attempt per participant

    Results and Final Assessment

    After the challenge window closes, all submissions go through the final assessment process.

    Winners Announced

    The top three performers receive official recognition and cash prizes in August 2026.

    Challenge Timeline

    The TAFSC 2026 test portal will be open for three (3) months:

    Opening period: 2 March 2026
    Closing period: 30 June 2026

    Participants may take the test at any point during this period — but only once — so we strongly recommend completing the course and preparing carefully before attempting the test.
